Automotive Fluids

The fluids in your car are very significant - they lubricate, cool, clean and protect some very costly components of your vehicle. Chris's Mechanical in Hawker know their fluids!

At Chris's Mechanical we will upon request, perform a 65 Point Vehicle Inspection report with your next car service which is a checklist of the important fluid levels of your vehicle and advises you if one of them needs a top up, replacement or could be leaking - this allows you to address any problems with the fluids or filters of your car - BEFORE they lead to expensive problems further down the track.

Having your fluid levels checked on a regular schedule means your are reducing the risk of breakdowns and damage to your vehicle. Especially to the engine, transmission, cooling system and brakes.

Types of fluid in your car include:
Oil: Lubricates the moving parts of your engine and prevents friction causing heat and wear
Transmission fluid: Facilitates smooth gear shifting and prolongs transmission life
Brake Fluid: Transmits the pressure from the brake pedal to the brake pads.
Power Steering Fluid: The hydraulic fluid that transmits the power in power steering.
Coolant: Maintains the correct temperature of your cooling system and prevents corrosion
Clutch Fluid: Operates the clutch in manual transmission vehicles.
